Nicholas Hoult is going to take the starring role in a film adaptation of the novel Kill Your Friends.
Author John Niven confirmed on Twitter that the book was being made into a movie and that his leading man would be X-Men star Nicholas.
He wrote: “After much delay and hell I am very pleased to say that the movie of Kill Your Friends starts shooting in March.
“Kill Your Friends film is being directed by Owen Harris and stars Nicholas Hoult as Stelfox. The screenplay is from my own tiny brain.”
He added: “Special mention to our wonderful KYF producers Gregor Cameron and Will Clarke, who have roasted their own b**** for 4 years getting us here.”
Kill Your Friends is about A&R man Steven Stelfox’s rise through the cut-throat music industry of the 90s, fuelled by drugs and his search for the next hit record – but when the business begins to change, Stelfox’s efforts to survive have murderous consequences.
Nicholas can be seen later this year in X-Men: Days Of Future Past and in Dark Places alongside Chloe Grace Moretz, Charlize Theron and Christina Hendricks.
